about david buckner
David's first artistic breakthrough involved learning the alphabet with his mother. She used to teach him the ABCs and he would write them by drawing the letters into shapes of monsters and creepy creatures. Flash forward years later, he received his bachelor's degree in visual arts from West Virginia University. Flash forward a little bit more and he received a degree in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design. His first children's book titled Even Scary Things Get the Blues, contains 25 illustrated children's poems guaranteed to tickle or scare your funny bone. David currently resides in wonderful and sometimes spooky Rhode Island. Learn more at http://www.davidbuckner.net.
About the Warren Walkabout
Spend a fall Sunday exploring the historic waterfront town of Warren, Rhode Island, at this year's annual Warren Walkabout—a street-style festival that runs four consecutive Sundays on October 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 12 to 5 PM with each week celebrating a different theme.
Residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy all that Warren has to offer, from unique independent shops and boutiques featuring sidewalk sales, to cafes and eateries with food pop-ups, along with live music performances around town, and open artist studios featuring workshops with live demonstrations. On each Sunday afternoon from Main Street to Water Street and beyond, explore the unique local architecture, waterfront views, and the cozy charm of autumn’s colors while supporting local businesses and the community.
Hosted by Discover Warren, this family-friendly street-style festival began over sixteen years ago to support the growth of the downtown arts district.
Whichever transportation you choose—car, bike, bus or boat—there’s plenty of parking and pedestrian access, along with a free trolley that will be available on Oct 22 and 29, courtesy of Navigant Credit Union. For more information visit discoverwarren.com or email info@discoverwarren.com.
