John Kostrzewa — WALKING RHODE ISLAND — Author Talk & Signing on Oct 10 at 6:30 PM

Ink Fish Books is proud to be a partner bookstore for this free community event with Barrington Land Conservation Trust

The event features John Kostrzewa, author of the new book Walking Rhode Island: 40 Hikes for Nature and History Lovers with Pictures, GPS Coordinates, and Trail Maps.

The book has drawn praise from environmental and historical leaders in Rhode Island.

“Along with being gracefully written and packed with precise details, John Kostrzewa’s hiking columns are an antidote to our high-speed, screen-centered lives. They not only guide you on some of the most beautiful trails in Rhode Island, but also give you a sense of history and what you are seeing along the way,” said Terry Gray, director of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management

John Kostrzewa worked for twenty-nine years at The Providence Journal and has been hiking across Rhode Island for decades. He retired from the Journal in 2017 and taught at Bryant University for three years. In 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, he launched “Walking Rhode Island,” a hiking column posted online and published in the Sunday Providence Journal. He has since written about more than 100 trails. Kostrzewa resides in Cranston, Rhode Island, with his wife Carol.
